Rappers Hate Bitches
Soooo, I found this article I wrote on January 9, 2017 on one of my first websites. I was 20 years old at the time.
Bitches are of little to no importance to “real niggas”, yet, these same “real niggas” cannot help but continue speaking about them. Bitches are the root of inspiration for nearly everything that rappers put into their music. Answer me this, how much of that flexing and flossing are you really doing for yourself and not to catch the attention of bitches? The clothes, the jewelry, the cars, the money. Men often times like to speak of the distinctions in different the types of women, which I am sure you have heard before — what SEPARATES a woman from a bitch, or a hoe, or a gold digger or the silly, sloppily used, “wifey material”.
Still, what makes up the cut off and the rules for being placed in these undesirable binding categories? Whose power stands behind these regulations and who confirmed with them that they know what the hell they’re talking about? Rappers need to stop hiding behind their fraudulent conceit that lacks concern and decency for bitches. It just isn’t working. Let us hear more about the progressive aspects about bitches that you so dearly love to dispel. Let us know about the bitches that you do care about, do send late night sweet texts too, the ones that you do take the condoms off for and bear a child with. Let us know about the women who raised you and helped shape you into the man that you have become.
Who hurt you all so badly that it discomforts you to spit a line without citing “bitch”? No judgement, be free in your creative writing process, but help me to better understand why we are not important to you? Songs with the traditional “fuck bitches get money” mentality causes me nothing but uneasiness in public. “Did I make the cut?”, I have to ask myself. “Am I giving thottish vibes today? Hell, if I refrain bathroom sink selfies could I possibly be listed as wifey material?”.
These same songs do so much as constantly put me on the defense because of the type of outlooks these lyrics birth in the minds of the impressionable pool of young men that I am opted to choose from.
Dear rappers, please don’t forget to create art that doesn’t fail to inform young people of the importance and beneficiaries of love, respect, and commitment to all people. Please don’t blanket us all as the same due to a few bad apples that you have encountered.
Sincerely,
A bitch
